On Immigration

I’ve never really cared about the fact
That any crafty Democrat can use
The weighty votes of immigrants, abuse
The immigration loopholes to extract
A bigger base, with all Latinos in.
The facts are simple – we, the USA,
A haven for the helpless, if we may
Reject the very ones who didn’t sin
In breaking any laws, and send them off
To land as foreign to them as it is
To us, and say the fault’s completely his,
Or all upon his father, I would scoff
At all remaining notions we would save
Of calling us a land of free and brave.
