Absolutes

The headline of the piece is incomplete,
Implying, as it does, a coming war
The Democrats are quickly rooting for
To take away our weapons.  It’s a feat
Of bold and brazen journalism here,
In being this dishonest.  For the tale
That’s written is a grayer one, derailing
Hope of any party line to veer
The argument in well-accustomed grounds
Of callous, bad conservatives, of bad
And too-controlling liberals – a tad
Too much, when politicians’ bitter rounds
Are fought among the traitors to their side – 
More subtle than the Drudge’s lede implied.
